3 Interior Trends I Wish I Saw More Often
When it comes to interior design, some trends deserve more attention. We asked our founder and owner, Gretchen Rivera to share the concepts she wishes were more popular. Here’s what she had to say
Q: What interior trends do you wish you saw more often?
Gretchen: Some design ideas are timeless, while others come and go—but a few really good concepts don’t get nearly enough attention. Here’s some ideas I think they deserve a place in more spaces.
A Transformed TV Wall
I love to enhance the space around a wall-mounted TV with a curated art collection that complements the room’s style. Consider wall size, TV dimensions, and aesthetic balance. Art should enhance, not overpower, the space. Mix paintings, photos, prints, or sculptures while maintaining harmony through color, theme, size, and texture. A well-balanced display shifts focus from the TV, creating a visually engaging and cohesive look.
Booth Seating in Dining Rooms
Inspired by restaurant and yacht interiors, booth seating adds charm, saves space, and creates an intimate dining experience. Soft, cushioned seats encourage lingering and relaxed conversations. Customizable to any décor, booths make meals feel special and extend beyond dining—great for unwinding and socializing long after eating, adding character to any home.
Bookcases in Dining Rooms
A floor-to-ceiling bookcase in the dining room adds a lively, colorful backdrop that feels like a cozy library. Filling the shelves with books creates warmth and elegance, making the dining experience more intimate. Mixing in fine china, glassware, and unique collectibles on a few shelves can give it a “cabinet of curiosities” vibe. Beyond aesthetics, a book-filled dining room can also serve as a study, making the space useful and versatile.
